45 school leaders, educators, and technical staff from 21 schools in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Rwanda, and India took part.
This three-day event, our first one in-person since 2019, was an excellent opportunity for participants to attend in-depth technical training, share resources, get questions answered, and network with counterparts at other schools. We had a variety of excellent sessions and topics to choose from as well as an all-star team of expert trainers: Roger Sprik, Greg Satterwhite, Romy Backus, Jason Springel, Carla Dancz, and Eric Schaitel. Remote presenters included Adam Larsen and Chris Walberg. PowerSchool COO Maulik Datanwala as well as International Account Executive Sam Eilert were also present to facilitate an interactive session on the PowerSchool roadmap and listen to customer experiences.
We are thankful to everyone who helped to make this event a success and look forward to our next conference in 2023 in Amman, Jordan!
The 2022 conference is at capacity and registration is now closed. Thank you to everyone who signed up, we are looking forward to a vibrant event with participants from over 20 schools in the region attending!

This three-day event on Dunecrest’s beautiful campus will be an excellent opportunity to increase your PowerSchool knowledge, share resources, get questions answered, and network with counterparts at other schools. We will have a variety of excellent sessions at different levels from experts in customization, scheduling, system administration, and much more!
All PowerSchool users and schools are welcome, from both the Middle East and further afield.
For insight into the types and content of sessions offered in the past at this event, please reference the 2020 Session Catalog. A detailed session schedule and sign-up for the 2022 event will be sent in mid February closer to the conference dates. Since this is a relatively small event, session offerings will be tailored to the needs and roles of the attendees. If you are planning to attend, please register early and be as descriptive as possible on the registration form with what you hope to learn, and every effort will be made to accommodate those needs in this year’s sessions and curriculum.
Please note that masks will be worn at all times throughout the conference, and all participants will be required to either show proof of full vaccination or a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours of conference begin.
Due to the continuing world situation and travel difficulties due to Covid-19, Khuloud and I (Romy) have made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person PSUG Middle East & Africa conference in Jordan that was planned for October 2020. Anybody whose registration fee was still pending will be refunded by the end of September.
We will still hold a small virtual meeting of the PSUG on the morning of October 28th to connect with any new members, discuss topics submitted by members, and share support and experiences, but it will not have a formal training component. A signup link will be sent out at the beginning of October for this virtual meeting.
For PowerSchool training this fall, we recommend registering instead for one of the two Virtual PSUG Academies organized by the PSUG Events group:
Due to the worsening of the global spread of COVID-19 in the last 48 hours, and following discussions with the leadership of ACS Amman yesterday, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the PSUG Amman conference until fall 2020 (dates TBD).
Registered attendees have been contacted directly. More information will be published here when we have the new dates for the fall.
